The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free in the CXL machine check exception notifier when handling machine check exceptions for CXL regions. A local user can trigger the vulnerable CXL machine check exception handler to cause a denial of service.

Only CXL regions with an extended linear cache are affected.
