Description

This security bulletin contains information about 5 vulnerabilities.

1) Insufficient verification of data authenticity (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-12817)

CWE-ID: CWE-345 - Insufficient Verification of Data Authenticity

CVSSv4: 8.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:H/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to tamper with decrypted OpenPGP data.

The vulnerability exists due to improper authentication tag validation in OpenPGP AEAD decryption when processing chunk-aligned data. A remote attacker can supply crafted encrypted data to tamper with decrypted OpenPGP data.

2) Observable discrepancy (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-59640)

CWE-ID: CWE-203 - Observable discrepancy

CVSSv4: 6.9 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to recover information about encrypted OpenPGP data.

The vulnerability exists due to an oracle exposure in OpenPGP CFB quick-check processing when handling symmetric and session-key paths. A remote attacker can submit crafted encrypted data to recover information about encrypted OpenPGP data.

3) Protection mechanism failure (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-59643)

CWE-ID: CWE-693 - Protection Mechanism Failure

CVSSv4: 8.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:H/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass OpenPGP inline-signature policy enforcement.

The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of policy failures in OpenPGP inline-signature verification when processing policy validation results. A remote attacker can supply crafted signed data to bypass OpenPGP inline-signature policy enforcement.

4) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-59648)

CWE-ID: CWE-400 - Resource exhaustion

CVSSv4: 8.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to uncontrolled resource consumption in OpenPGP Argon2 S2K processing when honoring attacker-chosen memory and passes. A remote attacker can supply crafted OpenPGP data to cause a denial of service.

5) Uncontrolled Memory Allocation (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-59649)

CWE-ID: CWE-789 - Uncontrolled Memory Allocation

CVSSv4: 8.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to uncontrolled memory allocation in OpenPGP user-attribute subpacket parsing when processing a length bounded only by JVM max memory. A remote attacker can supply a crafted subpacket to cause a denial of service.
