Description
This security bulletin contains information about 6 vulnerabilities.
1) Inefficient Algorithmic Complexity (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-33123)
CWE-ID: CWE-407 - Inefficient Algorithmic Complexity
CVSSv4: 6.9 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to inefficient algorithmic complexity in array-based stream decoding when processing a crafted PDF containing an array-based stream with many entries. A remote attacker can supply a specially crafted PDF to cause a denial of service.
Exploitation requires the application to access an array-based stream with many entries in the PDF.
2) XML Entity Expansion (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-40260)
CWE-ID: CWE-776 - Improper Restriction of Recursive Entity References in DTDs ('XML Entity Expansion')
CVSSv4: 6.9 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause excessive memory consumption.
The vulnerability exists due to improper restriction of recursive entity references in DTDs in the XMP metadata parser when parsing XMP metadata from a PDF file. A remote attacker can supply a specially crafted PDF to cause excessive memory consumption.
Exploitation requires the application to parse the XMP metadata.
3) Excessive Iteration (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-41168)
CWE-ID: CWE-834 - Excessive Iteration
CVSSv4: 5.1 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to excessive iteration in cross-reference and object stream processing when parsing a crafted PDF with wrong large /Size or /N values. A remote attacker can supply a specially crafted PDF to cause a denial of service.
4) Uncontrolled Memory Allocation (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-41312)
CWE-ID: CWE-789 - Uncontrolled Memory Allocation
CVSSv4: 6.9 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to memory allocation with excessive size value in the FlateDecode stream processing logic when processing a PDF stream compressed using /FlateDecode with a /Predictor value other than 1 and large predictor parameters. A remote attacker can supply a specially crafted PDF to cause a denial of service.
Exploitation requires the application to access the crafted compressed stream.
5) Excessive Iteration (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-41313)
CWE-ID: CWE-834 - Excessive Iteration
CVSSv4: 5.1 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to excessive iteration in incremental mode processing when loading a PDF with a large trailer /Size value. A remote attacker can supply a specially crafted PDF to cause a denial of service.
6) Uncontrolled Memory Allocation (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-41314)
CWE-ID: CWE-789 - Uncontrolled Memory Allocation
CVSSv4: 6.9 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to memory allocation with excessive size value in the FlateDecode image handling functionality when processing a crafted PDF containing large image dimension values. A remote attacker can supply a specially crafted PDF to cause a denial of service.
