The vulnerability allows a local privileged user to cause memory corruption or a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free in the x86 PAT page-attribute handling code when concurrently loading and unloading modules that operate on the same page middle directory. A local privileged user can concurrently load and unload modules to cause memory corruption or a denial of service.

The issue occurs when module text is served from a shared large read-only executable mapping.
