The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper error handling in the __blkdev_direct_IO function when an integrity mapping fails during a direct I/O operation with metadata. A local user can perform a direct I/O operation with metadata during an integrity mapping failure to cause a denial of service.
