The vulnerability allows a local user to read or write memory out of bounds.
The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read and out-of-bounds write in the mt76_mmio_write_copy() and mt76_mmio_read_copy() helpers when processing buffer lengths that are not multiples of four. A local user can cause the helpers to process a buffer length that is not a multiple of four to read or write memory out of bounds.
