CWE-ID: CWE-416 - Use After Free
CVSSv4: 2 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause the IOMMU to access freed memory.
The vulnerability exists due to improper context-cache invalidation in the Intel VT-d IOMMU context-cache invalidation logic when tearing down DMA aliases. A local user can trigger teardown of a device with DMA aliases to cause the IOMMU to access freed memory.
In scalable mode, a stale cached context entry can continue to reference a freed PASID directory.
