The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to improper locking in the Sparx5 network driver MAC table access path when synchronizing multicast addresses during receive-mode configuration. A local user can trigger multicast address synchronization while opening a network device to cause a denial of service.
