The vulnerability allows a local user to cause unintended processing of transmit metadata.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in the AF_XDP zero-copy transmit metadata handling when submitting transmit descriptors with UMEM metadata space without the XDP_TX_METADATA option set. A local user can submit specially crafted transmit descriptors to cause unintended processing of transmit metadata.
The issue is limited to zero-copy transmission with UMEM metadata space.
