The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper synchronization of polling fence state in the amdgpu MES scheduler rings when recovering from a GPU reset after MES stops responding. A local user can initiate a post-reset MES submission to cause a denial of service.
