1) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98087)

CWE-ID: CWE-400 - Resource exhaustion

CVSSv4: 2 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of migration-disabled tasks in the Linux kernel RT and deadline scheduler push-candidate selection logic when selecting tasks for migration during real-time or deadline load balancing. A local user can cause migration-disabled real-time or deadline tasks to remain on pushable task lists, triggering repeated unsuccessful push attempts to consume CPU time.

The issue occurs when a migration-disabled task remains at the head of a pushable task list.
