1) Race condition (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-97942)

CWE-ID: CWE-362 - Concurrent Execution using Shared Resource with Improper Synchronization ('Race Condition')

CVSSv4: 5.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to a race condition in the x86 alternatives patching code when text poking races with change_page_attr operations on a shared execmem range. A local user can trigger concurrent text-poking and page-attribute operations to cause a denial of service.

Exploitation requires CONFIG_ARCH_HAS_EXECMEM_ROX to be enabled.
