The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to use-after-free in the generic netlink controller policy dump handling when advancing a pending policy dump. A local user can initiate and advance a policy dump to cause a denial of service.
Exploitation requires the target generic netlink family to be unregistered and its module unloaded while the dump remains pending.
