Description

This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.

1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98149)

CWE-ID: CWE-125 - Out-of-bounds read

CVSSv4: 2 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause incorrect per-CPU values and an out-of-bounds read.

The vulnerability exists due to improper indexing in per-CPU BPF array, hash, and cgroup storage map update paths when processing per-CPU map updates without BPF_F_CPU or BPF_F_ALL_CPUS. A local user can submit a crafted per-CPU map update to cause incorrect per-CPU values and an out-of-bounds read.

Exploitation requires a possible CPU mask with sparse CPU IDs.
