CWE-ID: CWE-476 - NULL Pointer Dereference
CVSSv4: 5.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a kernel panic.
The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of a null DMA ring pointer in qla25xx_free_req_que() and qla25xx_free_rsp_que() when freeing a request or response queue after DMA allocation fails during queue creation. A local user can initiate queue creation when DMA allocation fails to cause a kernel panic.
