The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to a null pointer dereference in s390 PAI PMU support when a CPU is hotplug added while a PAI perf event is active. A local user can run a PAI perf event while a CPU is brought online to cause a denial of service.
