The vulnerability allows a local user to disclose stale on-disk data.

The vulnerability exists due to improper error handling in ntfs_attr_fallocate() when allocating file space and zeroing newly allocated clusters. A local user can trigger file-space allocation during a zeroing failure to disclose stale on-disk data.
