Description

This security bulletin contains information about 4 vulnerabilities.

1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-40652)

CWE-ID: CWE-125 - Out-of-bounds read

CVSSv4: 5.2 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:P/VC:H/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to compromise the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition. A local user can use a specially crafted Truevision Graphics Adapter (TGA) file, trigger an out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system or perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

2) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-40660)

CWE-ID: CWE-125 - Out-of-bounds read

CVSSv4: 5.2 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:P/VC:L/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to compromise the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition. A local user can trigger an out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system or perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

3) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-40661)

CWE-ID: CWE-787 - Out-of-bounds write

CVSSv4: 5.1 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:P/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to compromise vulnerable system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing untrusted input. A local user can use a specially crafted DirectDraw Surface (DDS) file, trigger an out-of-bounds write and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

4) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-40659)

CWE-ID: CWE-190 - Integer overflow

CVSSv4: 5.1 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:P/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow. A local user can use a specially crafted DirectDraw Surface (DDS) file, trigger integer overflow and cause a denial of service condition on the target system.
