- Critical
Description
This security bulletin contains information about 4 vulnerabilities.
1) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: N/A)
CWE-ID: CWE-190 - Integer overflow
CVSSv4: 6.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow in wasmtime-wasi filesystem timestamp handling when processing crafted filesystem timestamp values. A remote attacker can provide a timestamp whose microseconds field overflows its seconds field to cause a denial of service.
The issue affects the WASI Preview 1, Preview 2, and Preview 3 filesystem interfaces.
2) Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling (CVE-ID: N/A)
CWE-ID: CWE-770 - Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling
CVSSv4: 6.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to failure to enforce write allowances in wasmtime-wasi-http outgoing HTTP body write handling when a guest supplies a buffer larger than the allowance returned by check-write. A remote attacker can invoke check-write and pass an oversized buffer to write to cause a denial of service.
3) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: N/A)
CWE-ID: CWE-400 - Resource exhaustion
CVSSv4: 1 [CVSS:4.0/AV:A/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:A/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to inadequate resource accounting in the dynamically typed Val API when loading a value returned by a guest. A remote user can return a value that causes excessive host memory allocations to cause a denial of service.
Only hosts using the Val API are affected; hosts using bindgen! or other statically typed APIs are unaffected.
4) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: N/A)
CWE-ID: CWE-400 - Resource exhaustion
CVSSv4: 6.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:A/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to improper fuel accounting in the Cranelift backend when compiling guests containing `call_ref` callsites or calls within `try_table` catch paths. A remote user can execute a guest containing these opcodes to cause a denial of service.
Fuel consumption must be enabled, and user interaction is required.
