Description

This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.

1) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-77473)

CWE-ID: CWE-22 - Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal')

CVSSv4: 6.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:N/VI:H/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to write files to arbitrary locations on the client filesystem.

The vulnerability exists due to path traversal in SFTPClient._copy() when processing server-supplied directory entry filenames during recursive remote-to-local copies. A remote attacker can return a directory entry with a crafted filename to write files to arbitrary locations on the client filesystem.

User interaction is required to initiate a recursive remote-to-local copy.
