Description
This security bulletin contains information about 6 vulnerabilities.
1) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: N/A)
CWE-ID: CWE-787 - Out-of-bounds write
CVSSv4: 8.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds write in the Snappy.uncompress*Array typed-array methods when processing compressed input with a declared uncompressed length that is not a multiple of the element size. A remote attacker can supply crafted compressed input to cause a denial of service.
Native code can write up to 7 bytes past the end of the Java array.
2) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-90559)
CWE-ID: CWE-787 - Out-of-bounds write
CVSSv4: 8.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds write in Snappy.uncompress(ByteBuffer, ByteBuffer) when processing a crafted compressed input with a declared decompressed size larger than the destination buffer's remaining capacity. A remote attacker can supply a crafted compressed input to cause a denial of service.
The native decompressor can write past the end of a direct buffer's off-heap allocation.
3) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-116590)
CWE-ID: CWE-787 - Out-of-bounds write
CVSSv4: 8.2 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to improper validation of array indices in Snappy.arrayCopy and the SnappyOutputStream.rawWrite and SnappyInputStream.rawRead methods when handling caller-supplied offsets and lengths. A remote attacker can supply negative or oversized offsets or lengths to cause a denial of service.
4) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: N/A)
CWE-ID: CWE-125 - Out-of-bounds read
CVSSv4: 8.3 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to disclose sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in the native code used by the byte array, typed-array, and ByteBuffer variants of Snappy.compress, Snappy.rawCompress, and Snappy.rawUncompress when processing caller-supplied offsets and lengths. A remote attacker can provide crafted offset or length values to disclose sensitive information.
5) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: N/A)
CWE-ID: CWE-787 - Out-of-bounds write
CVSSv4: 8.3 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds write in the native code used by the byte array, typed-array, and ByteBuffer variants of Snappy.compress, Snappy.rawCompress, and Snappy.rawUncompress when processing caller-supplied offsets, lengths, or output buffers. A remote attacker can provide crafted offset, length, or output-buffer values to cause a denial of service.
6) Uncontrolled Memory Allocation (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-108106)
CWE-ID: CWE-789 - Uncontrolled Memory Allocation
CVSSv4: 8.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to memory allocation with an excessive size value in snappy-java decompression paths when processing compressed data with an attacker-declared uncompressed length. A remote attacker can provide crafted compressed data to cause a denial of service.
