1) Deadlock (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98257)

CWE-ID: CWE-833 - Deadlock

CVSSv4: 8.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service by permanently stalling the RDS connection workqueues.

The vulnerability exists due to a deadlock between synchronous connection teardown and shutdown work in rds_ib_cm_connect_complete() when a peer negotiates a protocol version older than RDS_PROTOCOL_COMPAT_VERSION. A remote attacker can negotiate such a protocol version to cause a denial of service by permanently stalling the RDS connection workqueues.
