Description

This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.

1) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98242)

CWE-ID: CWE-190 - Integer overflow

CVSSv4: 2 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause DMA mapping lengths to be truncated.

The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow in dma_buf_phys_vec_to_sgt() when accumulating size_t lengths in the 32-bit mapped_len variable. A local user can trigger physical-vector conversion with a total linked IOVA length greater than 4 GiB to cause DMA mapping lengths to be truncated.

The described code path requires an MMIO size greater than 4 GiB and peer-to-peer DMA passing through the host bridge. Truncated lengths are passed to functions such as fill_sg_entry().
