CWE-ID: CWE-125 - Out-of-bounds read
CVSSv4: 4.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to disclose sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in the p54_parse_eeprom() function when parsing a truncated trailing record in a PDR_INTERFACE_LIST entry. A local user can provide a malformed EEPROM buffer to disclose sensitive information.
The variant value read from the record also feeds synth front-end selection.
