1) Improper update of reference count (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98344)

CWE-ID: CWE-911 - Improper Update of Reference Count

CVSSv4: 2 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper reference counting in dma_chan_put() in drivers/dma/dmaengine.c when releasing DMA channels acquired through the fast path. A local user can cycle dmaengine_get() and dmaengine_put() to cause a denial of service.

Exploitation requires a non-private DMA provider with a persistent client keeping chan->client_count greater than zero.
