Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Race condition (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98300)
CWE-ID: CWE-362 - Concurrent Execution using Shared Resource with Improper Synchronization ('Race Condition')
CVSSv4: 0 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to trigger a kernel warning.
The vulnerability exists due to a race condition in tcp_v6_do_rcv() when processing incoming IPv6 TCP packets concurrently with closure of a listening socket. A local user can close a listening socket during the race window between tcp_v6_rcv() and tcp_v6_do_rcv() to trigger a kernel warning.
The affected path requires IPv6 receive options to be enabled through np->rxopt.all.
Remediation
Install update from vendor's website.
