1) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98294)

CWE-ID: CWE-476 - NULL Pointer Dereference

CVSSv4: 6.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:H/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local privileged user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to a null pointer dereference in the Bluetooth hci_qca power-off handling when accessing a serial port that has already been closed. A local privileged user can unbind the driver after a controller failure to cause a denial of service.

The failure sequence involves hci_dev_open_sync() failing after qca_setup() succeeds on a controller with HCI_QUIRK_NON_PERSISTENT_SETUP set. The close operation leaves power->vregs_on true, allowing the removal path to enter power-off handling.
