1) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98287)

CWE-ID: CWE-119 - Memory corruption

CVSSv4: 4.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to corrupt shared packet headers.

The vulnerability exists due to failure to ensure that packet headers are writable in pppoatm_send() when applying LLC encapsulation to packets received through PPP channel bridging. A local user can submit packets with shared headers through a bridged PPP channel to corrupt shared packet headers.

The affected encapsulation operation prepends a four-byte LLC header.
