1) Operation on a Resource after Expiration or Release (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98398)

CWE-ID: CWE-672 - Operation on a Resource after Expiration or Release

CVSSv4: 0 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to disrupt kernel lock dependency validation.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of stale lock-class cache entries in the kernel lock dependency validator when acquiring locks whose cached classes have been invalidated. A local user can trigger acquisition of a lock retaining a stale class-cache entry to disrupt kernel lock dependency validation.

The issue can arise after module unloading or lock-key unregistration. Reported behavior includes kernel warnings; reuse of an invalidated class slot can also cause an unrelated lock class to be matched.
