Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 vulnerabilities.

1) Input validation error (CVE-ID: N/A)

CWE-ID: CWE-20 - Improper input validation

CVSSv4: 9.3 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code.

The vulnerability exists due to an unspecified flaw in React Server Components when processing responses that transport multiple typed arrays and an attacker-controlled value. A remote attacker can supply crafted payloads to execute arbitrary code.

Only server-side applications using a framework, bundler, or bundler plugin that supports React Server Components are affected.

2) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: N/A)

CWE-ID: CWE-400 - Resource exhaustion

CVSSv4: 8.2 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to uncontrolled resource consumption in React server function endpoints when handling HTTP requests. A remote attacker can send specially crafted HTTP requests to trigger out-of-memory exceptions or excessive CPU usage to cause a denial of service.

Affected applications must use a server and a framework, bundler, or bundler plugin that supports React Server Components.
