Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 vulnerabilities.

1) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: N/A)

CWE-ID: CWE-122 - Heap-based Buffer Overflow

CVSSv4: 4.6 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when using the -morph option. A remote attacker can use a specially crafted images, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and cause a denial of service condition on the target system.

2) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: N/A)

CWE-ID: CWE-121 - Stack-based buffer overflow

CVSSv4: 6.3 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in TIFF decoder when DNG decoder is disabled. A remote unauthenticated attacker can use a specially crafted image, trigger stack-based buffer overflow and cause a denial of service condition on the target system.
