Description
This security bulletin contains information about 3 vulnerabilities.
1) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-36374)
CWE-ID: CWE-400 - Resource exhaustion
CVSSv4: 8.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly control consumption of internal resources when processing ZIP archives. A remote attacker can trigger resource exhaustion and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
2) Command Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-7962)
CWE-ID: CWE-77 - Command injection
CVSSv4: 6.9 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary SMTP commands on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient input validation when handling CR-LF characters in UTF-8 encoding. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted input to the application and execute arbitrary SMTP commands on the server.
3) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-78254)
CWE-ID: CWE-22 - Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal')
CVSSv4: 5.6 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:A/VC:N/VI:H/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to overwrite arbitrary files.
The vulnerability exists due to path traversal in the ftp and scp tasks when processing files downloaded from a malicious server. A remote attacker can provide relative paths to write files outside the dedicated download target directory.
For scp and FTPS, the server must pass the tasks' server identity checks; non-FTPS FTP connections may be subject to a machine-in-the-middle attack.
