1) Incorrect Calculation of Buffer Size (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98526)

CWE-ID: CWE-131 - Incorrect Calculation of Buffer Size

CVSSv4: 7.1 [CVSS:4.0/AV:A/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker on the local network to potentially cause a denial of service by triggering a kernel socket-buffer headroom underflow.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient link-layer headroom allocation in llc_alloc_frame() when allocating LLC response frames for stacked Ethernet devices such as VLAN devices. A remote attacker on the local network can send LLC traffic that elicits a response through an affected device to trigger a headroom underflow in eth_header() and potentially cause a denial of service.
