Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Missing Release of Resource after Effective Lifetime (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98535)
CWE-ID: CWE-772 - Missing Release of Resource after Effective Lifetime
CVSSv4: 4.6 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:H/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local privileged user to cause a clock reference leak that may contribute to resource exhaustion.
The vulnerability exists due to failure to release a clock reference in the read_dts_node() function of the Freescale FMan Ethernet driver when reading a clock rate during device-tree processing. A local privileged user can trigger the affected processing path to leave an incremented clock reference unreleased, potentially contributing to resource exhaustion.
Remediation
Install update from vendor's website.
