1) Improper synchronization (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98550)

CWE-ID: CWE-662 - Improper Synchronization

CVSSv4: 2.3 [CVSS:4.0/AV:A/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker on the local network to potentially cause a denial of service by leaving a TIPC group socket blocked after a group member departs.

The vulnerability exists due to improper synchronization in tipc_group_delete_member() when a departing member causes the outstanding broadcast acknowledgment counter to reach zero without restoring the group's open state or triggering a socket wakeup. A remote attacker on the local network can potentially cause a member departure under this condition to leave socket operations blocked despite completion of the outstanding acknowledgment accounting.
