Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98567)
CWE-ID: CWE-787 - Out-of-bounds write
CVSSv4: 6.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:H/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local privileged user to corrupt kernel memory and potentially cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds write in __netif_set_xps_queue() when updating transmit packet steering (XPS) mappings after reducing the number of traffic classes. A local privileged user can trigger an XPS mapping update for a transmit queue whose stale traffic class is outside the current valid range to write beyond the allocated mapping array and potentially cause a kernel crash.
Remediation
Install update from vendor's website.
