Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98568)
CWE-ID: CWE-787 - Out-of-bounds write
CVSSv4: 5.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:H/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local privileged user to corrupt kernel memory and potentially cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds write caused by a time-of-check to time-of-use race in the Linux kernel VXLAN function vxlan_na_create() when allocating and reserving headroom for neighbour replies. A local privileged user can trigger neighbour reply generation concurrently with link headroom changes through vxlan_changelink() to cause an Ethernet header write beyond the allocated socket buffer, potentially causing a denial of service.
Remediation
