Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98602)
CWE-ID: CWE-125 - Out-of-bounds read
CVSSv4: 7.1 [CVSS:4.0/AV:A/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker on the local network to potentially cause a denial of service through out-of-bounds reads in the Linux kernel.
The vulnerability exists due to out-of-bounds reads in Bluetooth BNEP receive-frame and control processing when handling truncated frames or control frames that fall through to Ethernet frame submission. A remote attacker on the local network can send specially crafted BNEP frames to trigger reads beyond available packet data, potentially causing a kernel crash.
Remediation
Install update from vendor's website.
