Description

This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.

1) Memory leak (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98607)

CWE-ID: CWE-401 - Missing release of memory after effective lifetime

CVSSv4: 6.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to exhaust resources and potentially cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper release of object references in virtio_gpu_resource_create_blob_ioctl() when UUID assignment or GEM handle creation fails. A local user can invoke resource-creation operations that encounter these error paths to leak virtio_gpu_object allocations, resource identifiers, and host-side resources, potentially causing resource exhaustion and a denial of service.
