Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Memory leak (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98608)
CWE-ID: CWE-401 - Missing release of memory after effective lifetime
CVSSv4: 6.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to exhaust resources and potentially cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to failure to release an owned object reference in virtio_gpu_resource_create_ioctl() when handling a drm_gem_handle_create() failure. A local user can exercise this error path to leak the GPU object, its pages and scatter-gather table, the resource identifier, and the host-side resource, potentially exhausting resources and causing a denial of service.
