1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98660)

CWE-ID: CWE-125 - Out-of-bounds read

CVSSv4: 6.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:H/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local privileged user to trigger an out-of-bounds kernel memory read, potentially causing a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in the Linux kernel bmp280 pressure sensor driver's bmp280_write_sampling_frequency() function when looking up a requested sampling frequency. The function treats the number of flattened integer elements as the number of two-element frequency entries. A local privileged user can request a sampling frequency that causes the lookup to iterate beyond the table boundary, potentially causing a kernel fault and a denial of service.
