Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98663)
CWE-ID: CWE-416 - Use After Free
CVSSv4: 5.6 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:H/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local privileged user to potentially cause a denial of service by triggering access to freed kernel memory.
The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free in the Linux kernel adis16480 driver's debugfs file operations when firmware_revision or firmware_date is read concurrently with device unbinding. A local privileged user can trigger a read that remains in progress during device unbinding, allowing the read operation to access the freed iio_dev structure and potentially crash the kernel.
Remediation
Install update from vendor's website.
