Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Race condition (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98465)
CWE-ID: CWE-362 - Concurrent Execution using Shared Resource with Improper Synchronization ('Race Condition')
CVSSv4: 2 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:L/VI:L/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to read or modify another vCPU's interrupt file without authorization.
The vulnerability exists due to a race condition in the RISC-V KVM IMSIC attribute handling code when device ioctl operations run concurrently with vCPU migration. A local user can race a GET or SET attribute operation against migration to access another vCPU's interrupt file through stale physical CPU and HGEI values.
Remediation
Install update from vendor's website.
