1) Use of Uninitialized Variable (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98760)

CWE-ID: CWE-457 - Use of Uninitialized Variable

CVSSv4: 5.2 [CVSS:4.0/AV:P/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows an attacker with physical access to system to potentially cause a denial of service and disclose kernel stack data.

The vulnerability exists due to use of an uninitialized stack variable in tps6598x_connect() in the Linux kernel USB Type-C tipd driver when registering a port partner. An attacker with physical access to system can connect a USB device to an affected port to trigger the use of uninitialized descriptor fields, potentially causing a kernel crash through invalid callback invocation and exposing stack data through partner sysfs attributes.
