1) Reachable assertion (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98469)

CWE-ID: CWE-617 - Reachable Assertion

CVSSv4: 6.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:H/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local privileged user to cause a denial of service by terminating the affected virtual machine.

The vulnerability exists due to a reachable assertion in the Linux kernel KVM arm64 debug register handling when processing AArch32 guest accesses to DBGBXVR. A local privileged user can access this register from a guest to trigger KVM_BUG_ON() and cause KVM to mark the virtual machine dead because demux_wb_reg() does not handle its Op2 value of 1.
