Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Improper access control (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98822)
CWE-ID: CWE-284 - Improper Access Control
CVSSv4: 4.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:L/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to bypass VLAN isolation and potentially disclose network traffic to a station on a different VLAN within the same basic service set (BSS).
The vulnerability exists due to improper access control in the Linux kernel mac80211 function ieee80211_lookup_ra_sta() when resolving destination stations for AP and AP VLAN unicast frames. A local user can submit a unicast frame on one interface addressed to a station on another VLAN in the same BSS to cause unauthorized cross-VLAN delivery, because the station lookup searches across the BSS rather than restricting matches to the transmitting interface.
Remediation
