Description

1) Use of Uninitialized Variable (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98482)

CWE-ID: CWE-457 - Use of Uninitialized Variable

CVSSv4: 0 [CVSS:4.0/AV:A/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker on the local network to cause the kernel to process uninitialized memory as NFC LLCP sequence data.

The vulnerability exists due to use of uninitialized memory in nfc_llcp_recv_hdlc() when processing truncated NFC LLCP PDUs without checking that the sequence byte is present. A remote attacker on the local network can send a two-byte I, RR or RNR PDU to cause the kernel to read uninitialized skb tailroom and use the byte as N(R)/N(S) sequence data.
