Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-98485)
CWE-ID: CWE-125 - Out-of-bounds read
CVSSv4: 8.2 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service by triggering a kernel panic.
The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in the Linux kernel netfilter rt_mt6() function when processing IPv6 routing addresses under a non-strict address-matching rule with IP6T_RT_FST_MASK set and rtinfo->addrnr equal to zero. A remote attacker can send a crafted IPv6 packet containing matching routing addresses to advance the address index beyond the 16-entry array and cause a denial of service through a kernel panic.
Remediation
