Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-99061)
CWE-ID: CWE-416 - Use After Free
CVSSv4: 5.6 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:H/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local privileged user to cause a denial of service by crashing the kernel.
The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free caused by a race condition in the brcmfmac driver's brcmf_detach() function when driver removal overlaps with removal of a P2P device interface by an exiting user-space process. A local privileged user can remove the driver while the process that created the P2P device is still exiting to trigger duplicate interface unregistration and access to freed memory, causing a kernel crash.
Remediation
Install update from vendor's website.
