Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Missing Release of Resource after Effective Lifetime (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-99049)
CWE-ID: CWE-772 - Missing Release of Resource after Effective Lifetime
CVSSv4: 2 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to prevent the Xilinx GPIO controller from entering runtime suspend, leaving its clock enabled.
The vulnerability exists due to a missing runtime power management reference release in xgpio_request() in the Linux kernel Xilinx GPIO driver when pm_runtime_get_sync() fails. A local user can trigger a GPIO request that encounters this failure to leave the usage counter incremented and prevent the controller from entering runtime suspend, because gpiolib does not invoke the matching free callback after a failed request.
Remediation
Install update from vendor's website.
